Fiat has revealed its entry-level hatchback, the Mobi, in Brazil, which is targeted at young car buyers.
It’s powered by a 1.0-litre flex-fuel engine that produces 73/75hp and 9.5/9.9Nm on petrol and ethanol respectively. The engine is mated to a five-speed manual gearbox. The Mobi comes with a 47-litre fuel tank.
The Mobi measures 3,566mm long, 1,633mm wide, 1,502mm high, 2,305mm between the axles and has a ground clearance of 156mm. Design highlights include large headlights and front grille, and boot-lid integrated tail-lights. The trunk can hold up to 235 litres of luggage. Base variants get 13-inch steel wheels while higher variants are shod with 14-inch rims; top-end variant gets 14-inch alloys.
On the inside, the Mobi gets an instrument cluster with a digital display, steering-mounted audio controls, and a 4-inch infotainment system display with Bluetooth, USB and aux connectivity. The car also gets Fiat’s Live On device, which turns the user’s smartphone into the car’s multimedia interface.
The car is a size bigger than the Renault Kwid, and would make for an interesting entrant in the hotly contested entry-level hatchback space in India. However, there is no news of the Mobi’s arrival on our shores.
