    Ford EcoSport recalled in India

Ford has issued a voluntary recall of 48,000 diesel EcoSport models manufactured between April 2013 and June 2014, and 700 EcoSport models manufactured between January and February 2016. Ford had earlier recalled the EcoSport in November last year to rectify an issue with the rear suspension.

The 48,000 units have been recalled to install a new bundle clip on the fuel and brake lines, whereas the 700 units are being called in to replace the bolts on the split folding rear bench.

In a statement, the carmaker said that “the 40 percent rear seat backrest might have been assembled with bolts that do not meet Ford’s material specification”, and therefore could be prone to failure.

Owners of the EcoSport models affected by the recall can contact their local dealers to have the faulty parts replaced at no cost.

This voluntary recall is Ford’s second in two months with the automaker previously recalling the Figo and Figo Aspire over a glitch in the model’s airbags which could affect the unit’s deployment.
