Toyota's luxury brand Lexus has officially launched in India. From the three models Lexus has launched, it has revealed prices of only the ES 300h hybrid sedan and the RX 450h hybrid SUV – the latter in two variants – but is yet to disclose prices of its range-topping LX 450d.

As per our sources, the diesel range topper from the luxury brand is set to be priced at a substantial Rs 2.3 crore (ex-showroom, Mumbai). A petrol LX 570 is expected to join the line-up as well, with prices likely to be at a premium. A key difference between the two will be the seating arrangements. The diesel is a five-seater, while the petrol will get a seven-seat layout with a third row of seats.

Based on the same underpinnings as the legendary Toyota Land Cruiser, the Lexus LX 450d comes with the same 4.5-litre, twin-turbo V8 diesel engine as found in the India-spec Land Cruiser LC200 good for 269hp and a massive 650Nm of torque.

With the price tag of Rs 2.3 crore, the Lexus will come at a significant premium to the LC200, which at Rs 1.34 crore (ex-showroom, Mumbai) is almost a crore less in comparison. Though, for the price, the LX will offer the Land Cruiser’s terrain conquering ability but with a more luxurious and better-equipped interior.

The prices for the rest of Lexus’ India line-up are as follows (ex-showroom, Delhi):

    Lexus ES 300h – Rs 55.27 lakh

Lexus RX 450h Luxury – Rs 1.07 crore

    Lexus RX 450h F-Sport – Rs 1.10 crore
