After 12 years in the market, the Fiat Punto will finally be replaced by the Argo, an edgy, muscular hatch that has been designed and developed in Brazil. Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) has released official images of the Argo for Brazil, showing a sharp- and sporty-looking hatchback with a wide grille, elongated headlamps with LED DRLs, maroon highlights, precision-cut alloy wheels, a rear spoiler, trapezoidal chrome exhaust tip and lots of bold, muscular lines.

The Argo will come with three engine options, all petrol – a 72hp, 1.0-litre unit; a 101hp, 1.3-litre unit; and a 135hp, 1.8-litre unit. There is no word about a diesel engine yet. All engine options will come mated to a 5-speed manual transmission, with the 1.8-litre unit getting an additional 6-speed automatic option.

The Argo will start its life in the Brazilian market, making its way to other markets later. However, there is no word on when the Argo will make it to India.
