    2017 Jeep Compass variants explained

    Jeep has launched its first made-in-India model, the Compass. Prices for the new SUV start at Rs 14.95 lakh going up to Rs 20.65 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Local production of the SUV commenced in early June and it has already gathered more than 5,000 bookings. The Compass is sold with two engine options – a 2.0-litre 173hp, 350Nm diesel and a 1.4-litre MultiAir turbo-petrol. Five variants will be on offer. Here's what you'll get on each of the variants:

    • Seven-speed dual-clutch automatic (only with the petrol variant)
    • LED tail-lamps
