The updated ‘Mach 2’ version of Ultraviolette’s electric sports bike has made its debut roughly a year and a half after the market launch of the F77. The first product launched by Ultraviolette – the Bengaluru-based startup – was the F77and it took place in 2022. Now, the EV startup is ready with the F77 Mach 2, which builds on the F77 platform and introduces some new features.

    1. F77 Mach 2 has better range and more features
    2. Now a lot more affordable than the older F77
    3. Ultraviolette plans to have 18-20 dealerships across India

A whole host of new electronic features have been introduced as part of the ‘Performance Pack’ to make the F77 Mach 2 safer than before. For starters, Ultraviolette has changed the braking system – there's a new optimised ABS system that features a front-only ABS mode, turning the rear ABS off and leaving the front ABS active.

Additionally, traction control has been introduced with three levels (rain, city and track), with level 3 being the most intrusive and level 1, the least intrusive. Ultraviolette has also added hill-hold assist, a TPMS (optional on both variants), the ability to set a charge limit, a ‘find my F77’ feature, new themes for the display and on-board navigation, which will be integrated into the display.

The performance pack is currently bundled into the introductory price for the first 1,000 customers, after which, it will be chargeable. It’s also worth mentioning that while most of these features will be standard on the F77 Mach 2 Recon, they remain optional on the standard F77 Mach 2.

The F77 Mach 2 and F77 Mach 2 Recon boast of a higher IDC range of 211km and 323km, respectively, though the performance remains unchanged. The F77 Mach 2 has been launched at an introductory price of Rs. 2.99 lakh, while the F77 Mach 2 Recon costs Rs. 3.99 lakh. Bookings for both motorcycles will open across 15 cities starting today. Ultraviolette also has plans to expand its dealership network with 18 to 20 new locations across India.
