I am planning to buy the VW Tiguan, but I want to know the fuel efficiency I can expect in Bengaluru. Also, what would its highway efficiency be while cruising at 100kph? And by how much would it drop at 150kph?

Autocar India says: You can expect the VW Tiguan 2.0 TSI to return between 6.5kpl and 7.5kpl in the city, with an overall average speed of 18-19kph. This number will improve when traffic is lighter. On the highway, it is possible to achieve 13-14kpl by driving between 90 and 110kph. However, efficiency drops the faster you go, so it could even return single digits at 140-150kph.

Tiguan is lot heavier and the cabin is relatively lot safer. The mileage is a clear ratio between power and weight. Unfortunately the Indian market expects Vw to defy physically having a heavier/safer car with a high mileage. The problem with Vw is dealership. They are awful. I live in Bangalore and here their dealership is atrocious to say the least.

Do not buy petrol Tiguan. ,it’s not at all fuel efficient giving 6 km per liter only ,Now there is buyer to sell it too
