Triumph has unveiled its 2021 Bonneville range and the Street Twin, one of the popular models, has received a few cosmetic updates and a Euro 5/BS6 compliant engine.

    • Gold Line limited to 1,000 units globally

2021 Triumph Bonneville Street Twin: What are the updates?

While the 2021 Street Twin shares the same body panels as its predecessor, Triumph has added subtle cosmetic updates to enhance the appearance of the motorcycle. This includes a brushed aluminium headlamp bracket, throttle body covers and a distinct finned head and header clamps. The side panels have a mesh insert that seems to have been inspired by that on the Triumph Speed Twin. Triumph has also replaced the old alloys with machine-finished alloy wheels that adds to the premiumness of the design. Lastly, the 2021 Bonneville Street Twin gets a new seat, with 10mm thick foam for added comfort. The result of the fatter seat is a 5mm increase in seat height that now stands at a pretty accessible 765mm.

2021 Triumph Bonneville Street Twin: Engine and chassis

The new Street Twin is powered by a 900cc, Euro5/BS6 compliant engine that produces the 65hp at 7,500rpm and 80Nm at 3,800rpm, which is around 100rpm higher than in the previous engine. The engine is paired to a 5-speed transmission, with an assist and slip clutch as standard.

The Street Twin employs the same frame, suspension and brakes. In terms of electronics, the bike has two ride modes- Road and Rain and switchable traction control.

2021 Triumph Bonneville Street Twin: Limited edition Gold Line

Triumph will also introduce the Bonneville Street Twin in a new Gold Line Trim that is limited to 1,000 units globally. Out of these a few units are said to make it to our shores. While the motorcycle is mechanically identical to the standard 2021 Street Twin, the ‘Gold Line’ features a unique Matt Sapphire Black paint scheme with the knee recess on the tank area painted in a contrasting white. It also gets a new side panel which includes a custom Street Twin logo, a Triumph heritage logo and hand-painted gold lining. You’ll see a similar gold pin stripe on the machined wheels as well.

Each Gold Line Street Twin will come with a certificate of authenticity, personalised with the unique VIN number of the bike. In many ways then, this will be more of a collector’s edition.
