    BMW C 400 GT: What's new?

Feature additions made to BMW’s petrol maxi-scooter

As for the updates to the BMW C 400 GT, besides complying with the Euro 5+ standards, the maxi-scooter features a minor design refresh and a noticeably longer exhaust can (likely due to the stricter norms).

For 2025, IMU-assisted cornering ABS, traction control and engine braking control are now standard. The package also includes engine drag torque control, which prevents the scooter from sliding by applying additional torque to the rear wheel when needed, ensuring better stability.

The brand has also reduced the seat height by 10mm to 765mm while enhancing the C 400 GT’s practicality with expanded storage. It now features an additional 7.1 litres of underseat storage, bringing the total capacity to 37.6 litres. BMW says this extra space was achieved by redesigning the seat tub and seat shell while relocating the control unit and underseat lighting.

The right-hand side cubby on the front apron is now 3.2 litres larger, bringing its total volume to 4.5 litres. Another feature that enhances convenience is the new two-stage manually adjustable windscreen.

    BMW C 400 GT variants

Now, the BMW C 400 GT is available in two variants – the base Blackstorm and the Exclusive. As the name suggests, the Blackstorm variant gets a blacked-out paint job, wheels, seat and calipers.

The higher-spec Exclusive variant features a white paint job, golden rims, a black seat bench with an embroidered emblem and rims that match the golden brake calipers. A unique addition exclusive to this variant is the BMW logo projection near the footpegs, similar to BMW’s cars.

    BMW C 400 GT features

The updated C 400 GT now comes with a larger 10.25-inch TFT dash as standard, featuring Bluetooth connectivity, compared to the earlier 6.5-inch unit. Keyless ignition and all-LED lighting continue to be part of the package.

The engine remains unchanged, except for the added compliance with Euro 5+ norms. Despite that, the maxi-scooter continues to produce 34hp and 35Nm of torque from its 350cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder mill.

Earlier, the outgoing BMW C 400 GT was priced at Rs 11.25 lakh. However, BMW has hiked the price by Rs 25,000, bringing the effective price to Rs 11.50 lakh. It is pertinent to note that this is an introductory price that is expected to rise, though the brand has not disclosed a timeline for it.

    All prices are ex-showroom, India.
