Ahead of its launch on April 6, Ather has confirmed that its upcoming Rizta electric scooter will use the same battery pack as the existing 450 range. However, the start up hasn’t specified the capacity specifically.

    1. Ather has two battery capacities currently – 2.9kWh, 3.7kWh
    2. Rizta will likely be heavier and thus, have lower range

Currently, Ather has two battery packs that underpin its 450 range – 2.9kWh and 3.7kWh – and it remains to be determined which one will find its way onto the RiztaIt is also possible that both battery capacities will be available on the Rizta, like the 450X, but what options will be available from the start will be dictated by the future of the FAME subsidy.

The closest rivals to the Ather Rizta will be the TVS iQube and the Bajaj Chetak Premium, which have battery capacities of 3.04kWh and 2.88kWh, respectively.

The 450X with the 2.9kWh battery has a claimed range of 111km, while the model with the 3.7kWh battery has a 150km claimed range (both IDC figures). Since the Rizta will be much larger and most likely quite a bit heavier than the petite 450 line of e-scooters, its claimed range number will be lesser.
