BMW Concept F 450 GS: what is known?

The exact displacement of the Concept F 450 GS’ motor isn’t known, but if its name is anything to go by, it should be in the 450cc ballpark. This engine is rated for 48hp and BMW claims that the Concept F 450 GS weighs ‘close to 175kg’. When it comes to the engine's firing order, things get a little interesting, and BMW claims this engine won’t have a regular 270-degree firing order.

BMW also claims that this engine has a broad spread of torque right from low revs. The company has a clearly defined nomenclature for their model line-ups, wherein the current-gen F models all have a twin-cylinder engine with a 270-degree firing order. All these signs point to the fact that the new 450 engine will use a firing order that mimics a 270-crank. For instance, KTM’s parallel-twin engines use a 285-degree firing order.

The Concept F 450 GS' headlight is similar to the R 1300 GS and it also uses a 6.5-inch TFT dash, cross-spoke wheels and fully adjustable suspension. It remains to be seen how much of this equipment carries forward to the production-spec bike that's slated to break cover in 2025.
