Ducati Hypermotard 698 Mono details, performance

The Hypermotard 698 Mono is Ducati’s attempt at a single-cylinder motorcycle after nearly four decades. Ducati was known to make engines with single-cylinder configuration from around the 1950s to the 1970s. As the name suggests, the Hypermotard 698 Mono is powered by a 659cc single-cylinder mill that produces 77.5hp at 9,750rpm and 63Nm at 8,000rpm. It is also worth mentioning that the Hypermotard 698 Mono has a wet weight of 151kg with no fuel which puts it nearly on par with the KTM 390 Duke.

In comparison, the Hypermotard 950 RVE is powered by a 937cc L-twin motor that produces 114hp at 9,000rpm and 96Nm at 7,250rpm. In terms of looks, the Hypermotard 698 Mono follows a design language that’s similar to its older sibling and combines supermoto styling along with Ducati aesthetics.

Combined with elements such as double exhausts, five-spoke alloy wheels, an LED headlight, a high front mudguard, a sharp tail, and a tall, flat seat, this single-cylinder Ducati is as aggressive as the Hypermotard 950 RVE. Currently, the Hypermotard 698 Mono is available in classic Ducati red, and they claim an RVE variant will be arriving later this year. Bookings for this bike are open. Ducati aims to begin deliveries by the end of July.
