    1. The KLX230 is the road-legal Japanese dual-sport on sale
    2. It costs twice as much as the Hero Xpulse 200 4V

    Kawasaki KLX230 price, launch details

The KLX230 is powered by a 233cc air-cooled motor that produces 18.1hp at 8,000rpm and 18.3Nm at 6,400rpm. This engine is paired with a 6-speed gearbox and has a relatively small fuel tank capacity of just 7.6 litres. It is equipped with a 37mm telescopic fork at the front with 240mm of travel and a monoshock at the rear with 250mm of travel.

The features list is quite limited, and it gets a monotone LCD that allows for Bluetooth connectivity. It also comes equipped with dual-channel ABS. The KLX230 is relatively light with a 139kg curb weight, and it has a tall seat height of 880mm. However, the company does offer an optional lower seat for shorter riders.

Currently, the KLX230 rivals the Hero Xpulse 200 4V and Xpulse 200 4V Pro, which are priced at Rs 1.51 lakh (ex-showroom, India) and Rs 1.64 lakh (ex-showroom, India), respectively. This makes the Kawasaki KLX230 twice as expensive in comparison. While there is no doubt the KLX230 is a capable machine, its price and limited-service network should pose a challenge.
