Kawasaki to hike prices across the range

Kawasaki India has announced a price hike across nearly its entire range of bikes from next year. Depending on the Kawasaki motorcycle, prices will increase by a Rs 10,000-20,000 margin. Read on to know how much more a new Kawasaki bike could cost you in 2021.

    • Price hike effective from January 1, 2020

    • Kawasaki Z900 is dearer by Rs 20,000

    • Kawasaki Z650's new price is Rs 6.04 lakh

Kawasaki motorcycles to cost up to Rs 20,000 more

As Kawasaki India says the price hike will be effective from January 1, 2021, this means it will not be applicable to those who book their new bike on or before December 31, 2020.

The price hike ranges between Rs 10,000 to Rs 20,000; depending on the model. The Kawasaki Z650 and W800 will be Rs 10,000 dearer. The 650cc street naked will set you back by Rs 6.04 lakh while the retro themed W800 will be priced at Rs 7.09 lakh.

The Kawasaki Ninja 650, Versys 650, Ninja 1000 SX and Vulcan S will receive a price hike of Rs 15,000. This makes the Ninja 650 (essentially the faired version of the Z650) Rs 35,000 dearer than its street naked sibling.

This brings us to the Kawasaki Z900 and Versys 1000, both of which will bear a Rs 20,000 hike in their respective price tags. The Kawasaki Z900 is currently the only four-cylinder motorcycle on sale in the segment and with the price now sitting at Rs 8.19 lakh, it is roughly Rs 60,000 more affordable than the Triumph Street Triple R, which is priced at Rs 8.84 lakh.

Kawasaki dirt bike range prices unchanged

The price hike is not applicable to the Kawasaki KX and KLX range of dirt bikes. These motorcycles are imported into the country and were already pretty expensive. Prices begin at Rs 2.99 lakh for the KLX110, and go up to Rs 8.49 lakh for the KLX450R.
