The Raptee.HV T30 electric motorcycle has received certification from the Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI), which means the company can now begin sales. The T30 uses a high-voltage 240V architecture that enables it to be the only electric two-wheeler in India compatible with combined charging system 2 (CCS2) DC fast-charging, a standard used by electric cars.

    1. The T30’s ex-showroom price is Rs 2.39 lakh
    2. It has received 8,000 bookings already

Since its launch in October 2024, Raptee.HV has registered over 8,000 bookings, aligning with a stated first-year sales target of USD 25 million (approximately Rs 218 crore). The company has been working on high-voltage powertrain technology since 2019, aiming to integrate advanced electric vehicle technology into motorcycles at a competitive price.

The company states that the T30 has been designed to deliver performance comparable to a 300cc internal combustion engine (ICE) motorcycle. It comes with an eight-year battery warranty, fast-charging capabilities and access to India’s expanding network of over 22,000 DC fast chargers. The e-bike is priced at Rs 2.39 lakh (ex-showroom).

Raptee.HV CEO speaks about the ARAI clearance

Speaking about the milestone, Dinesh Arjun, CEO and co-founder of Raptee.HV, said, “We are setting a precedent here, and we believe the entire motorcycle ecosystem will inevitably transition to high voltage, much like the electric car industry due to its innate advantages. Certification of an entirely new architecture means developing not just the subcomponents but also the performance, safety and validation standards, co-creating the supplier ecosystem, and then actively working with the regulatory body to get the new standards through. While it has taken us around six years to build the HV architecture for our first motorcycle, our platforms are now in place to support the launch of a new motorcycle every 12 months from hereon.”

    Tentative delivery timeline and patents

Raptee.HV plans to begin deliveries in Chennai and Bengaluru in the first quarter of the 2025-26 financial year, with further expansion planned in a phased manner. The company has filed 156 patents related to its high-voltage powertrain and motorcycle design.
