As we reported yesterday, Royal Enfield has six new models in the pipeline for the financial year. The first of these is the Guerrilla 450, which will be launching sometime between July - September 2024.

    1. Has a very minimalist design
    2. Gets a telescopic front fork, not USD
    3. Will be positioned below Himalayan

    Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450: details

The Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 has been spotted testing both in India as well as overseas and the overarching design theme is that of a minimalist, neo-retro roadster. What is clearly visible is the presence of a teardrop-shaped fuel tank, a single-piece seat and a very slim tail section. Just like the new Himalayan, the Guerrilla 450 will have its tail lamp baked into the turn indicators.

The engine will be carried over from the Himalayan and we expect it to be making output figures in the same ballpark as its adventurous sibling – 40hp and 40Nm of torque. Where the Guerrilla 450 differs from the Himalayan is that it uses a simpler telescopic fork not a USD unit. It also trades the Himalayan’s tubed 21/18-inch wire-spoke wheels for tubeless alloy units which appear to be 17-inch units at both ends.

It remains to be seen if the Guerrilla 450 will use the Tripper TFT display from the Himalayan or whether it will use the simpler digi-analogue display from the Super Meteor 650. What has been clearly visible is that the Guerrilla gets the LED headlight that's becoming increasingly common across Royal Enfield’s lineup.

Considering that the Guerrilla 450 misses out on some premium hardware and features compared to the Royal Enfield Himalayan, we expect it to be priced somewhere around the Rs 2.40 lakh – Rs 2.50 lakh price bracket (ex-showroom). When it launches it will go up against the popular Triumph Speed 400 (Rs 2.33 lakh), Honda CB300R (Rs 2.40 lakh) and Husqvarna Svartpilen 401 (Rs 2.92 lakh).

    All prices ex-showroom, India.
