The Royal Enfield Hunter 350 has crossed the 5 lakh unit sales milestone in a little under two and a half years since its launch. The Hunter has been a popular model, owing to its affordable price and its relatively light kerb weight (both aspects in the context of other Royal Enfields).

    1. Hunter 350 is the second bestselling RE
    2. Most affordable, lightest RE on sale today
    3. Updated model could be launched with new rear suspension

The Hunter is based on the same 349cc engine platform as the Classic, Bullet and Meteor, but at 181kg, it is significantly lighter compared to its platform-engineered siblings. Thanks to its lightness and affordability, the Hunter has opened up the world of Royal Enfield to newer riders, female riders and returning riders alike. And what has also helped is that Royal Enfield hasn’t hiked the Hunter’s prices, which range between Rs 1.50 lakh and Rs 1.75 lakh (ex-showroom, Chennai), since its launch.

The Hunter crossed the one lakh sales milestone within just six months of its launch, with the next lakh coming up within a year. Now, this model has largely remained in second position in the Royal Enfield line-up, after the brand’s mainstay, the evergreen Classic 350. Royal Enfield has been testing an updated Hunter 350, which aims to solve the primary issue we’ve reported – its stiff rear suspension. We could see this updated model arrive sometime this year, but it remains to be seen if the company will revise the prices.
