Suzuki Motorcycle India launched an E85-compliant version of its Gixxer SF 250 at Rs 2.17 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo.

    1. Gixxer SF 250 Flex Fuel is the same as the standard bike in design and features
    2. But it costs Rs 11,000-Rs 25,000 more than the standard Gixxer SF 250

Like the Honda CB300F Flex Fuel, which launched last year, the Gixxer SF 250 Flex Fuel is also capable of running on a blend of petrol and ethanol. The motorcycle can run on a concentration of ethanol of up to 85 percent, with the rest being petrol.

It gets a single-cylinder engine, which delivers 27.9hp on E85 fuel and 27.2hp with E20 fuel; the torque output of 22.5Nm remains the same on both fuel concentrations. To comply with the E85 fuel, the Gixxer SF 250 gets a modified injector, and the fuel pump, ECU, intake and exhaust valves, fuel gauge, injector and fuel filter are new.

The motorcycle’s design and features are the same as the regular Gixxer SF 250, and it is available in two colour options: matte red and matte black. While the standard Suzuki Gixxer SF 250 starts from Rs 1.92 lakh and goes up to Rs 2.06 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi, the E85 model costs Rs 2.17 lakh.
