Triumph’s flagship streetfighter, the Speed Triple 1200 RS, has been updated for 2025 with a little more powerful and new features.

    1. Speed Triple 1200 RS now makes 3hp, 3Nm more
    2. Gets new Ohlins semi-active suspension, adjustable steering damper
    3. Weighs 1kg more at 199kg

The Speed Triple 1200 RS continues to be powered by the same, liquid-cooled, 1,160cc, inline-3 motor producing 183hp at 10,750rpm and 128Nm at 8,750rpm. These figures are up by 3hp and 3Nm, and the torque is accessible 250rpm lower than the outgoing model. Triumph claims this has been achieved by a new freer-flowing exhaust system.

The biggest change to the Speed Triple 1200 RS is the latest-gen Ohlins semi-active suspension, similiar to what is seen on the 1200 RR. The electronics arsenal of the big Speed has also been tweaked and the wheelie control can now be adjusted independent of the traction control setting. Another change is the inclusion of an adjustable steering damper. The rest of the suite stays the same and the bike continues to come with keyless ignition as standard.

The updated Speed Triple 1200 RS now runs on Pirelli Supercorsa V3 tyres compared to the earlier bike that shipped with Metzeler Racetec RR rubber. Tyre sizes stay the same at 120/70-ZR17 (front) and 190/55-ZR17 (rear).

In the process of conforming to the stricter Euro5+ emissions norms, the Speed Triple 1200 RS has gained a kilo, bringing its kerb weight to 199kg. The Speed Triple 1200 RS is also available in three new colours – black, grey with red and grey with yellow.

In the UK, the outgoing model is priced at GBP 15,795, whereas the updated bike is priced at GBP 17,495, an increase of GBP 1,700 (approximately Rs 1.80 lakh). It remains to be seen what pricing strategy Bajaj adopts when the updated Speed Triple 1200 RS comes to India. For reference, the outgoing Speed Triple 1200 RS starts at Rs 17.95 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
