TVS Motor's Apache line-up has regained lead in the domestic market after a year, by overtaking its smaller sibling, the Raider 125. As per the latest two-wheeler industry wholesale data, from April to June 2024, the Apache series sold 1,20,588 units (up 11 percent), surpassing the Raider 125, which sold 1,18,197 units (up 7 percent YoY).
As per the wholesales data, the Apache outsold the Raider in the first quarter of FY2024 (April-June 2023), but fell behind in the second quarter, recording a sharp 37 percent quarter-on-quarter drop to 68,072 units. While the Raider surged to 1,28,028 units and maintained its lead in the third and fourth quarters, selling over 1.2 lakh units each quarter.

The Raider 125, TVS Motor's first 125cc motorcycle, was the company’s best-selling bike in FY2024. It led sales with 4,78,443 units (up 100 percent YoY), surpassing the Apache series, which sold 3,78,072 units, by 1,00,341 units. It ranked third in TVS’ line-up after the Jupiter scooter and XL moped (4,81,803 units) in FY2024, narrowly missing the second spot by 3,360 units. In April 2024, the Raider crossed 8 lakh units, just 31 months since its September 2021 launch.

The Apache versus Raider 125 ‘friendly’ battle will continue this fiscal. On the cumulative sales front, the Apache series with 10,50,113 units still maintains a lead over the Raider’s 9,12,770 units.
