The limited-run TVS Apache RTR 165 Race Performance has sold out just over a month after going on sale. The Apache RTR 165 RP is the company's first motorcycle under the TVS Motor Company’s Race Performance sub-brand and was limited to just 200 units. The bike is priced at Rs 1.45 lakh which is more than the top-spec Apache RTR 160 4V (Rs 1.21 lakh) as well as the RTR 200 4V (Rs 1.39 lakh).

The most notable change on the TVS Apache RTR 165 RP is the heavily reworked engine. It now uses a 164.9 cc, four-valve, single-cylinder engine that makes 19.2hp at 10,000 RPM and 14.2Nm of torque at 8,750 RPM. For reference, the RTR 160 4V makes 17.5hp at 9,250 RPM and 14.73Nm at 7,250 RPM. The power figure of the RTR 165 RP is much higher than any other 160cc motorcycle on sale in India. The bike also gets a slipper clutch, adjustable brake and clutch levers and continues with the 5-speed gearbox.

TVS also gave the Apache RTR 165 RP a unique, two-tone white and blue colour combination on the bodywork that contrasts with the bright red wheels.

In all, the Apache RTR 165 RP has set the ball rolling for TVS and we are waiting to see when the other motorcycles in the range get the Race Performance treatment. Stay tuned for more.
