Less than a year since its launch, the TVS Ronin has found its way into custom workshops across the globe, and four such custom projects were shown at TVS MotoSoul 2023.

The two overseas Ronin customs were the Agonda, made by JvB Moto, Germany, and the Ronin Musashi by Smoked Garage, Indonesia. The other two customs were made right here in India: the Wakizashi by Rajputana customs, and the Ronin SCR, made by TVS itself.

    TVS Ronin SCR: details

TVS says that the SCR stands for special custom Ronin, and is also short for scrambler, which is the genre that this custom aims to be. To that end, it gets raised ride height at both ends, courtesy of suspension spacers. What this has done is increased the ground clearance.

Further bringing in a little off-road capability are the semi-knobby Shinko tyres, wrapped around wire-spoke wheels. This is in contrast to the stock bike, which comes equipped with alloy wheels and road-biased tyres. Of course, a scrambler wouldn’t be complete without the high-mounted scrambler style exhaust system, and so TVS has thrown in a neat twin-pod unit as well.

The rest of the changes are cosmetic – the SCR gets a redesigned solo seat, new bodywork and a revised LED headlight. The scrambler look is typified by the raised front ‘beak’, and there’s a bit of flat-tracker influence in the oval side panels.

At the moment, TVS says it has no plans of putting the Ronin SCR into production, but these custom projects shown at MotoSoul certainly hint at the versatility of the platform.
