Hero has launched the updated Xtreme 160R at a starting price of Rs 1.17 lakh, which is the same as the outgoing model. This update brings with it a gear position indicator, a reshaped seat and an external pillion grab rail (as opposed to recesses under the pillion seat of the outgoing model). There are no mechanical changes to the updated Xtreme 160R.
The Xtreme 160R continues to be powered by the same 163cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine that makes 15hp at 8,500rpm and 14Nm of torque at 6,500rpm. The tubular diamond frame, telescopic front fork and preload-adjustable rear monoshock are all carried over from the previous model as well.
The Xtreme 160R is available in three variants – Single Disc (Rs 1.17 lakh), Double Disc (Rs 1.20 lakh) and Stealth (Rs 1.22 lakh) – all of which come equipped with single-channel ABS. As for its rivals, it will have to contend with the TVS Apache RTR 160 4V, Yamaha FZ-FI, Bajaj Pulsar N160 and Suzuki Gixxer.
*All prices, ex-showroom, Delhi.
