Yamaha has rolled out a special edition for its FZ 25 motorcycle, called the Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP Edition.
- It is priced at Rs 1,36,800 (ex-showroom, Delhi)
- Mechanically unchanged from the standard FZ 25
- Yamaha plans to introduce MotoGP editions for more models
The Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP team has had a strong start to this year’s MotoGP season, with its rider Fabio Quartararo leading the world championship halfway through the year. Cashing in on this hype, Yamaha India has rolled out a special MotoGP Edition for its FZ 25, the largest bike it currently sells in India.
Like Yamaha’s race bikes, the FZ 25 Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP Edition features a black and blue colour scheme with prominent Monster branding on the tank extensions and side panels. Underneath, it remains mechanically unchanged from the standard FZ 25, meaning a 249cc single-cylinder motor producing 20.8hp and 20.1Nm.
At Rs 1,36,800 (ex-showroom, Delhi), it’s Rs 2,000 more expensive than the regular colour options, which is a reasonable premium to pay if you want your new bike to look something like that of your racing hero’s. Nice as this colour scheme is, we wish Yamaha were doing something more substantial to keep its Indian portfolio fresh and exciting.
