Thanks to local assembly, the new GLC 43 Coupe prices are expected to be competitive and will be around Rs 20 lakh more than the standard GLC 300 Coupe and GLC 300d. The Mercedes-AMG GLC 43 4MATIC Coupe should launch at an estimated an ex-showroom price tag of Rs 80 lakh. For reference, the pre-facelifted GLC 43 Coupe was launched in 2017 at an ex-showroom price of Rs 74.8 lakh. The GLC 43’s closest rival in the Indian market, the 354hp Porsche Macan S, costs Rs 83.95 lakh (ex-showroom, India).

The pre-facelift GLC 43 Coupe’s 3.0-litre turbo-petrol V6 engine put out 367hp and 520Nm of peak torque. With the facelift, power now stands at 390hp, though torque remains the same. The claimed 0-100kph time of 4.9sec has not changed from that of the pre-facelift model; top speed is limited to 250kph.

Power is sent to all four wheels via a 9-speed automatic gearbox and an AMG Performance 4MATIC all-wheel-drive system that has a rear-bias – 69 percent of total output is sent to the rear.

For the most part, the AMG-badged GLC looks a lot like the standard GLC Coupe facelift. However, AMG-specific changes – like the Panamericana grille, tweaks to the front bumper, side skirts, quad-piped exhausts, a rear diffuser element and different alloy wheels (19-21 inchers) – mark the GLC 43 Coupe apart.

The standard GLC Coupe and AMG-spec 43 are also quite similar on the inside. Red highlights add sporty flair to the GLC 43 Coupe’s cabin, while features such as sports seats, a flat-bottom steering and aluminium-finished paddle shifters accentuate the sportiness.

The dual-screen setup – a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment screen – with the latest MBUX software is standard fit. There are three AMG-specific display styles on offer – Classic, Sport and Supersport.

Adaptive damping for the suspension and five drive modes that can adjust the engine, transmission, suspension and steering to suite driver preferences are also on offer.
