Audi is set to launch the next-gen A6 in India on October 24, 2019. The new A6 will mark the brand’s first all-new model launch in over a year and will be offered as a petrol-only model.
The new A6 will be offered solely in 45TFSI spec – it is powered by a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo-petrol engine good for 245hp and 370Nm of torque that comes paired to a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox as standard.
The new A6 is larger than the model it replaces and features Audi’s new design language with more aggressive looks and a larger interpretation of the Audi family grille that is flanked by angular LED headlamps with LED DRLs. The model will get new design 18-inch alloy wheels.
Inside, the A6 will be the first Audi to feature the company’s latest MMI system with twin-touchscreens to control infotainment and in-car functions. Also part of the package will be tech such as the company’s Virtual Cockpit all-digital instrument cluster, a B&O audio system, powered front seats with memory function for the driver, four-zone auto climate control, a sunroof and a hands free parking function.
The new A6 will rival the likes of the BMW 5 Series and the Jaguar XF when it launches in India. Expect prices to be in the region of Rs 60 lakh (ex-showroom), which represents a near-Rs 10 lakh increase over the current A6 petrol (Rs 50.01 lakh).
