Aston Martin Vantage Roadster A3 revealed

    Aston Martin will make only three units of this special edition Vantage Roadster.

    A limited-run Aston Martin Vantage Roadster has been unveiled that has unique design cues to mark the 100th anniversary of the A3, the firm’s oldest surviving sportscar. The redesigned Vantage was commissioned by Aston Martin’s HWM dealership, its longest-serving retailer, in partnership with the firm’s bespoke Q division.

    Only three examples will be produced, with bespoke flourishes inspired by the 1921 model, including a black grille with aluminium surround, black exterior paint and 20-inch forged black wheels with bronze brake calipers.

    Chestnut tan leather and stitching feature on the interior of the car, with the marque's name embroidered in a heritage-inspired script, as seen in the original. The Vantage’s gauge surrounds have also been cast from brass, and the original-design Aston Martin logo features throughout.

    The mechanical parts of this limited-run Vantage Roadster will remain the same as its standard counterpart. This means it features a 4.0-litre, twin-turbocharged Mercedes-AMG V8 engine that produces 510hp and 685Nm. The engine comes mated to an 8-speed automatic gearbox. The Roadster is capable of doing the 0-100kph sprint in around 3.5sec and go on to hit a top speed of 306kph.

    Aston Martin centenary celebration

    The original A3, which was restored to its original factory specification by pre-war Aston specialist Ecurie Bertelli, was acquired by the Aston Martin Heritage Trust in 2002. It will be presented at a centenary celebration event on 26 June, alongside several rare Aston Martin models.

    Also at the event will be other pre-war Aston Martin and Lagonda vehicles, a V8 showcase, Gaydon-era sports cars and the British firm’s current model range.

    Aston Martin India

    The British marque launched the new Vantage in India back in 2018, with prices starting at Rs 2.95 crore. More recently, the brand’s first SUV – the Aston Martin DBX – was launched in India, with a starting price of Rs 3.82 crore. Aston’s India range also includes the DB11.
