Audi A4 Premium: what’s new?
In celebration of a successful 2021, Audi India has rolled out the new Premium variant for the A4 sedan. This new variant now serves as the entry point to the Audi A4 range in India.
The Audi A4 Premium gets features like a 10.1-inch infotainment touchscreen, an Audi sound system, LED headlamps and tail-lamps, Audi’s Drive Select driving modes, an electric glass sunroof, wireless charger, leather and leatherette upholstery, single-colour ambient lighting, auto climate control, electrically adjustable front seats, six airbags, front and rear parking sensors and a rear parking camera.
In comparison to the top-spec Technology variant, the Premium loses out on Audi’s Virtual Cockpit Plus digital instrument cluster, multi-zone climate control, multi-coloured ambient lighting, gesture-based boot opening and five-spoke ‘dynamic style’ alloy wheels.
Audi A4 Premium: engine and gearbox
The Audi A4 is powered by a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine that puts out 190hp and 320Nm of torque. The engine is paired to a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox as standard, with power going to the front wheels only. The A4 does the 0-100kph sprint in a claimed 7.3sec and is said to have a top speed of 241kph.
Audi A4: rivals
The Audi A4 competes with other luxury sedans like the Mercedes-Benz C-Class (Rs 50.01-51.74 lakh), BMW 3 Series (Rs 44.90-50.90 lakh), and the Volvo S60 (Rs 45.90 lakh).
Given its competitive pricing (Rs 39.99 lakh), the Audi A4 Premium will also contend with luxury sedans from a segment below like the BMW 2 Series (Rs 39.50-41.90 lakh), the Mercedes-Benz A-class sedan (Rs 41.20-43.20 lakh) and the top-spec Skoda Superb L&K (Rs 35.85 lakh).
