The India-bound Audi Q6 e-tron was seen in the country for the first time. Barely camouflaged, the e-SUV was spotted testing on the outskirts of Mumbai and is expected to arrive in showrooms by this year’s end or early 2025. It will have no direct rivals here.

    1. India-spec Audi Q6 e-tron likely to be RWD only
    2. Expected to be powered by 83kWh battery
    3. Q6 e-tron’s expected price range is Rs 70 lakh–80 lakh

The Q6 e-tron in our exclusive spy shots is a left-hand drive model and appears to have the same specs as the one sold internationally. Abroad, the Q6 e-tron quattro gets a 100kWh battery pack that powers two electric motors—one on each axle—making a combined 388hp. The model we saw looked like the one revealed earlier this year, from the typically understated Audi design to the separated headlights and daytime running lamps. The tail lights had a continuously animated pattern, which changes based on situations and can be set to a specific pattern.

The only discernible differences between the international model and the Q6 spotted here were the alloy wheel designs and a silver finish around the front fog lamps and on the rear bumper.

Besides, the India-spec model is likely to be powered by a smaller 83kWh battery pack. However, we expect the e-SUV to have similar charging capabilities as the international model; the 100kWh battery can go from 10 to 80 percent in 21 minutes with a 270kW charger. While the range and output figures are unknown, it’ll likely come with a single, rear axle-mounted electric motor.

The Q6 e-tron shares its PPE (Premium Platform Electric) platform with the Porsche Macan EV, prices for which were revealed in January.

In terms of size and price, the Q6 e-tron will be placed between the likes of the Volvo XC40 Recharge and the BMW iX1 on one end and the Audi Q8 e-tron, Mercedes EQE SUV and BMW iX on the other. We expect the electric SUV to cost Rs 70 lakh–80 lakh, ex-showroom.
