    BMW has launched the 2 Series Shadow Edition in India at Rs 46.90 lakh (ex-showroom). The Shadow Edition is only available on the 220i M Sport trim and gets blacked-out exterior elements as well as subtle updates to the upholstery.

    BMW 2 Series Shadow Edition: what’s new?

    The Shadow Edition gets a blacked-out kidney grille, adaptive LED headlamps with darkened inlays and M Lights Shadow Line specification, an all-black rear spoiler, and floating hub-caps with levelling function. On the inside, the 220i M Sport Shadow Edition gets an exclusive ‘Illuminated Berlin’ interior trim and a carbon gear selector. It also gets ambient lighting with six dimmable designs.

    The Shadow Edition is available in two colour options: Alpine White and a newly introduced Skyscraper Grey. The launch comes just days after the X3 received a similar special edition.

    BMW 2 Series Shadow Edition powertrain, price

    The 2 Series Shadow Edition is only available with the 2.0-litre, turbo-petrol engine producing 179hp and 280Nm. The engine feeds power to the front wheels via a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, and the sedan can sprint from 0-100kph in 7.1 seconds. The regular 2 Series is also available with a 2.0-litre diesel engine that makes 190hp and 400Nm that's mated to an 8-speed auto gearbox.

    The 2 Series Shadow Edition is Rs 3 lakh more expensive than the 220i M Sport variant it is based on, and Rs 1 lakh more than the 220i M Sport Pro. The 220d M Sport is priced at Rs 46.90 lakh.
