Citroen India has increased the standard warranty available on its range of petrol and diesel-powered cars and SUVs from 2-year/40,000km to 3-year/1 lakh km. Its ICE range currently consists of the C3 hatchback, Basalt coupe-SUV, Aircross SUV, and the C5 Aircross SUV.
This new warranty does not apply on the Citroen eC3 hatchback, which gets a 3-year/1.25 lakh km warranty, along with a 7-year/1.4 lakh km warranty on the battery and a 5-year/1 lakh km warranty on the e-motor. The warranty on the battery and e-motor reduce to 3-year/1.5 lakh km if the vehicle is registered for commercial use.
With the new standard warranty package, Citroen joins the likes of Renault and Maruti, which have announced similar extended durations for their models. Tata and Hyundai are also among the brands to offer a 3-year/1 lakh km warranty as standard across their portfolios.
Interestingly, discounts on Citroen models such as the Basalt, C3, eC3 and Aircross, continue to be the same as 2024's year-end discounts. The Basalt gets up to Rs 80,000 off, while the Aircross and C3 have benefits to the tune of Rs 1.75 lakh and Rs 1 lakh, respectively.
