Price of the base Live trim remains unchanged, but the Feel trim sees a price hike of Rs 20,000. Similarly, all Shine variants have received a uniform price hike of Rs 30,000.

All trims continue with the naturally aspirated 1.2-litre petrol engine that’s good for 82 hp and 115Nm. This engine only comes with a 5-speed manual gearbox. The more powerful 110hp 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine is now available only on the top Shine trim. Additionally, without revealing the prices, Citroen has announced an automatic gearbox option for the C3 hatchback for the first time. It will be a six-speed torque convertor unit that'll be available on the top-spec Shine trim.

As for features, the C3 now gets LED projector headlamps, electrically adjustable wing mirrors with integrated turn signals, automatic climate control and a digital instrument cluster, and the power window switches have now been relocated to the conventional position – on each door instead of the centre console earlier. It also now gets six airbags on the higher variants.

Citroen showcased the updated C3 at the same event where it unveiled the Basalt coupe-SUV. The C3 was the first mass-market model introduced by the French brand but has been a slow seller due to its lack of equipment. This update finally addresses those shortcomings and makes it more competitive against its rivals, the Tata Punch and Hyundai Exter.
