Porsche Macan EV: what’s new?
Apart from the new entry-level Macan EV, Porsche has also launched a new 4S variant priced at Rs 1.39 crore. The Macan EV Turbo's price has increased from Rs 1.65 crore to Rs 1.69 crore.
The entry-level variant comes with a single rear-mounted electric motor, which makes it Porsche's first rear-wheel drive SUV. This motor delivers 360hp and 563Nm of torque, enabling the Macan EV to sprint from 0-100kph in 5.7 seconds and reach an electronically limited top speed of 220kph. The mid-level Macan 4S EV, on the other hand, uses two electric motors, producing a combined 516hp (with power overboost) and 820Nm of peak torque. It dashes from 0-100kph in 4.1 seconds and has a top speed of 240kph.
Porsche has also added a new Slate Grey Neo exterior colour option and optional 20-inch Macan S alloy wheels. A new off-road design package is also optionally available for the entire range, which increases the approach angle and enhances the ground clearance by 10mm.
Porsche Macan EV: battery pack, range, charging
All three trim levels are equipped with a 100kWh battery pack. While the range-topping Macan Turbo EV offers a 591km range, the Macan 4S EV achieves 606km and the entry-level variant boasts the highest range of up to 641km on a single charge. The e-SUV, being based on the PPE platform, gets an 800V charging architecture that enables up to 270kW DC charging. With a suitable fast charger, the Macan EV’s battery can charge from 10 to 80 percent in 21 minutes.
The Porsche Macan EV competes against luxury electric SUVs such as the Audi Q8 e-tron, Mercedes EQE SUV and the BMW iX. Bookings for the two new variants are open, with deliveries set to commence later this year.
