Honda Extended warranty program: what’s new?
Honda India has announced that all of its current models – the Amaze, City (both petrol and hybrid) and the Elevate, qualify for this package. What’s more, existing owners of now discontinued Honda models like the Civic, Jazz and WR-V can also avail of this new extended warranty package, provided the vehicle is already a part of Honda’s extended warranty program.
Honda has said that existing customers can opt for the extended warranty package within two years of the purchase date, with additional options available until the end of the standard warranty period. Existing customers with an extended warranty of four or five years can extend their coverage to seven years, or 150,000 kilometres, whichever comes first. The purchased extended warranty is transferable, in case the owner decides to sell the vehicle.
Honda Extended warranty program: estimated pricing
Prices for the fourth to the seventh year unlimited warranty vary depending on the model and time of purchase. For example, customers of the current-gen City petrol-CVT will have to pay Rs 28,300 if the warranty package is purchased within 60 days of purchasing the standard extended warranty. For the Elevate CVT, unlimited extended warranty packages start at Rs 31,100, while for the Amaze, it starts at Rs 24,200.
Complete extended warranty price lists for the qualifying Honda models are now available with dealers. These extended warranty packages are available for private customers only, which means taxi and fleet vehicles do not qualify. Apart from Honda, Maruti, Tata Motors, and Hyundai, also offer extended warranty packages that last up to six years depending on the model.
