Hyundai Creta: one lakh bookings and counting

Hyundai’s popular SUV saw an average monthly sales of around 13,000 units in the last fiscal year. In total, Hyundai has sold more than 10 lakh units of the Creta SUV since the first-gen launched in 2015.

The facelifted Creta is now seeing heavy demand from customers, especially with those looking to buy a sunroof-equipped SUV; 71 percent of bookings are for variants with sunroof. Hyundai India further says that over 52 percent of buyers have opted for versions with the connected car tech that's available in the mid- and higher-spec variants.

With five engine and gearbox options, there are a total of 19 variants on offer. Recently, Hyundai also added the Creta N Line that is priced from Rs 16.82 lakh to Rs 20.30 lakh (ex-showroom). The Creta takes on the Kia Seltos, Maruti Grand Vitara, Citroen C3 Aircross, Toyota Hyryder, Honda Elevate, Volkswagen Taigun and the Skoda Kushaq SUVs in the Indian market. Introductory prices for the facelifted Creta are still in effect.

The all-electric derivative of the Creta is expected to make its debut this year, but the price announcement is expected in early 2025. It'll rival the Maruti eVX, MG ZS EV and Tata Curvv EV in the Indian market.
