Hyundai India seems to be rigorously testing the upcoming Creta facelift across the country, and new spy shots have surfaced online revealing fresh details about the features and design updates. Sources tell us that Hyundai will begin production of the Creta facelift at its Chennai factory starting January 2024.

2024 Hyundai Creta facelift: what all will be new?
As we've previously reported, the India-spec Creta facelift's design will take inspiration from the new Hyundai Palisade. Differentiating itself from the Tuscon-inspired Creta sold in ASEAN markets, the made-in-India Creta (codenamed SU2i, where i stands for India) facelift features a heavily updated design. It will sport an updated bumper, revamped tailgate and H-shaped LED DRLs like the Exter sub-compact SUV. Besides this, the Creta facelift will also get a split-unit vertical headlamp design with cube-like detailing and an updated front grille.
The silhouette remains largely the same, and while the spy shots show that the alloy wheel design is similar to the current Creta, there have also been sightings of Creta facelift test mules with larger 18-inch wheels from the Alcazar.
Talking about the features, the updated Creta will feature an ADAS suite and a 360-degree camera like its Kia sibling. While there are no major changes expected on the interior, there will be new shades for the upholstery and some minor changes here and there. The 10.25-inch screen for infotainment will likely continue on the updated Creta.
2024 Hyundai Creta facelift: powertrain options
With this facelift, the new 160hp, 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine will finally make its way to the Creta. The same engine powers the Kia Seltos, Hyundai Alcazar, Hyundai Verna and the Kia Carens. Transmission options are expected to be a 7-speed DCT gearbox along with a manual gearbox. The other engine options include a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine and a 1.5-litre diesel engine; both engines churn out 115hp.
2024 Hyundai Creta facelift launch date, rivals
We expect Hyundai to launch the Creta facelift early next year. The Creta's rivals include the Kia Seltos, Honda Elevate, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Toyota Hyryder, Skoda Kushaq, Volkswagen Taigun and MG Astor. Once the Creta facelift is launched, the Alcazar SUV will also get a mid-lifecycle refresh.
