Isuzu India has finally launched the D-Max V-Cross with a diesel-automatic configuration. The new Isuzu D-Max V-Cross Z-Prestige variant gets a 1.9-litre diesel engine mated to a 6-speed automatic gearbox. The company has priced this new variant at Rs 19.99 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), which is around Rs 3 lakh more than the older 2.5-litre model that comes with a 6-speed manual only.

The new 1.9 litre diesel engine in the Z-Prestige variant develops 150hp and 350Nm of torque, which is more powerful than the 134hp 2.5-litre unit available in other variants. The new 1.9-litre diesel is a BS4 compliant engine which will be upgraded to BS6 norms before the April 2020 deadline.  Apart from the new engine and gearbox, the Z-Prestige variant also sees more standard safety kit, like six airbags and a brake override system. This new variant sits on the top of the Isuzu D-Max V-Cross India line-up that also includes the standard and the Z trims. On the inside, it gets a dual-tone brown-black interior with perforated leather upholstery. Additionally, a USB charging port on the second row, piano-black accents around the cabin, a 7.0-inch infotainment touchscreen with USB input, DVD, AUX, iPod and Bluetooth connectivity, and roof-mounted surround speakers are also standard on this variant.

The model received a mid-cycle update a few months ago that added features like Bi-LED headlamps, chrome surrounds on the fog lights, roof rails, a shark-fin antenna and a set of new 18-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, to name a few.
