We've already reported that the Jeep Meridian is due a mid-lifecycle update later this year. A camouflaged test mule of the Meridian has now been spotted testing on our roads, hinting at some of the changes. It will remain mechanically unchanged, but is expected to come with subtle cosmetic updates and new feature additions.
- Meridian facelift expected to come with new ADAS suite
- Cosmetic update could include new grille and bumpers
- Will continue with the 170hp, 2.0-litre diesel engine
Jeep Meridian facelift: what do the spy shots reveal
Initial impressions indicate that there aren’t going to be major cosmetic updates – only the grille could be tweaked slightly and the bumper seems to sport a new design with new silver accents around the fog lamp housing. What’s clear, however, is that there’s a new ADAS radar module within the central air intake. Jeep isn’t really known to majorly overhaul the design of its SUVs with mid-lifecycle updates as we have seen with the Wrangler and Compass, so this is in line with expectations.
We also get a sighting of the interior of the Meridian facelift, and just like the exterior, we do not expect any major changes here. Updates could just be limited to new trim and upholstery options, and apart from the addition of the ADAS suite, there aren’t likely to be any major updates to the equipment list either. The Meridian is already a well-equipped SUV with features like a 10.2-inch touchscreen, connected tech, dual-zone climate control, wireless phone charging, panoramic sunroof, ambient lighting and a 9-speaker Alpine-tuned audio system.

Jeep Meridian facelift: powertrain
Jeep offers the Meridian in India with a sole 170hp, 350Nm, 2.0-litre diesel engine that's mated to either a 6-speed manual or a 9-speed torque converter, and these are expected to be carried forward unchanged on the facelifted SUV. Jeep is also evaluating a new petrol engine for the Compass in India and this could find its way under the hood of the Meridian. However, this is unlikely to happen any time before 2025.
Jeep Meridian facelift: expected price
As of now, the pre-facelift Jeep Meridian is priced between Rs 33.60 lakh and 39.66 lakh (ex-showroom). The facelift will likely result in a slight price increase. The Meridian rivals the Skoda Kodiaq and Volkswagen Tiguan in India.
