While it’s been labelled a concept, this version of the Wrangler is most likely go into production in the coming months and is expected to sit at the top of the Wrangler Rubicon line-up.The SUV is powered by a 6.4-litre naturally aspirated V8 engine that delivers 450hp and 610Nm of torque, and will be the first ever V8-powered Wrangler and also the most powerful production Wrangler ever. An 8-speed automatic gearbox channels power to the wheels and Jeep claims that the 450hp Wrangler can do a 100kph sprint in less than five seconds.

The concept uses a modified frame to accommodate the big V8 engine and is also shod with high-strength Dana 44 axles and locking differentials at both ends. It also gets a two-inch suspension lift, Fox monotube shocks, and 17-inch bead-lock wheels with 37-inch mud-terrain tyres, as you’d expect for a top-dog Wrangler.

Will the Wrangler Rubicon V8 come to India?

At present, the Jeep Wrangler Rubicon Unlimited is the highest-spec of Wrangler on sale in India. The Rubicon 392 concept is yet to go into production and we expect the production spec Wrangler V8 variant to be aimed at the North American market initially.
