Kia has patented the design of the EV6 facelift in India, hinting at its launch in our market. The EV6, brought in as a CBU in 2022, was the company’s first all-electric model for India. The updated EV6, which debuted globally in May and is likely to be introduced here sometime next year, comes with revised looks, new features and updated mechanicals.

Kia EV6 facelift exterior and interior updates
Most changes are concentrated on the face of the updated EV6. The headlamps are now more angular, drop deeper into the bumper and feature a revised LED daytime running lamp signature that spans across the entire width of the face. Even the front bumper has been revised with new air vents, and it appears a lot smoother than before.
There aren’t many changes in profile, but the facelift gets a new design for the alloy wheels that come in either 19- or 20-inch sizes. At the rear, the LED signatures in the tail-lamps are mildly different, and the EV6 gets a revised bumper.
The cabin features an updated, curved panoramic screen for the digital instrument cluster and the infotainment display. It also gets a new two-spoke steering wheel that now has a fingerprint scanner that allows registered drivers to start the car without a key. The facelift also gets a digital rear-view mirror and an improved head-up display, along with an AI-based navigation setup.
Kia EV6 facelift powertrain, specs
The EV6 facelift gets a larger 84kWh battery, which replaces the pre-facelift’s 77.4kWh unit. In the RWD-spec with 229hp and 350Nm, it returns a range of 494km; in the 325hp, 605Nm AWD-spec, the range is 461km. These claimed figures by Kia are based on the South Korean test cycle. The new battery supports 350kW DC charging and is said to go from 10 percent level to 80 percent in 18 minutes.
The updated EV6 is expected to come to India sometime next year and will likely continue to be an import. This segment of premium electric crossovers has become fairly populated lately with the likes of the Mini Countryman Electric, BMW iX1 and Mercedes EQA. The EV6 facelift will also have its stable mate, the Hyundai Ioniq 5, to contend with.
