Following its debut earlier last week, Kia is set to officially commence bookings for the Sonet facelift from December 20. Sources say that prices for the Sonet facelift will be revealed early next month, with deliveries beginning by mid-January, and added that waiting periods are not likely to exceed a month. Deliveries for the diesel-manual variants, however, will begin a little later from February 2024.

Priority delivery with Kia K-code
For even quicker deliveries, customers can avail benefits with the special Kia K-code. One simply has to get in touch with an existing Kia owner who can generate the K-code from Kia India's website by entering their vehicle details, or on the MyKia app between December 14-20.
The K-code can then be used at the time of booking the vehicle to jump the queue for priority delivery. However, the K-code will only be applicable for bookings made through the website, and specifically on December 20 between midnight and 11.59pm.
Kia Sonet facelift powertrain, trims and variants
The Sonet facelift continues to be offered with three engine options: an 83hp, 1.2-litre, four-cylinder petrol engine that comes with a 5-speed manual gearbox only; a 120hp, 1.0-litre, three-cylinder turbo-petrol engine; and a 116hp, 1.5-litre, four-cylinder diesel engine. The turbo-petrol and diesel engines get a 7-speed dual-clutch and 6-speed torque converter automatic, respectively. The latter two also get a 6-speed iMT and a 6-speed manual, respectively, with the manual making a comeback on the diesel.
There are three trim lines on offer – Tech Line, GT Line and X-Line. This is further split into the following trims: HTE, HTK, HTK+, HTX, HTX+, GTX and X-Line. The 1.2-litre petrol engine is available only with the Tech Line trims, while the 1.0-turbo-petrol and 1.5-diesel are spread across all three trim lines. The automatic gearboxes for both these engines are limited to the top-spec HTX+, GTX and X-Line trims.
Kia Sonet facelift expected price, rivals
The outgoing Sonet was priced from Rs 7.79 lakh for the base 1.2 petrol going to Rs 14.89 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) for the top-spec diesel-auto. Given the significant feature updates, expect the Sonet facelift to cost a decent chunk more than before.
In terms of rivals, the Kia Sonet facelift will compete with the Tata Nexon, Hyundai Venue, Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Nissan Magnite, Renault Kiger and other compact SUVs.
