    Land Rover has launched the Discovery Metropolitan Edition at a starting price of Rs 1.26 crore (ex-showroom, India). The Metropolitan Edition gets a host of new exterior and interior features, including an advanced PM 2.5 air-purification system.

    Discovery Metropolitan Edition: what is new?

    Based on the facelift, the Metropolitan Edition gets some cosmetic changes to make it stand out from the standard Discovery.

    Based on the R-Dynamic HSE variant, the Metropolitan gets Bright Atlas colour detailing for the grille and Discovery badging. Additionally, the SUV gets Hakuba Silver lower bumper inserts, 20-inch Satin Dark Grey wheels, black brake calipers, and a panoramic sunroof.

    On the inside, as standard, the Metropolitan Edition features a 12.3-inch infotainment system, wireless phone charger with signal booster, cooled front glove box, four-zone climate control, and heated steering wheel. The SUV also gets heated and cooled front and rear seats, and Titanium Mesh trim detailing. Moreover, it is equipped with the carmaker's Advanced Air Purification system with PM2.5 air filtration.

    Discovery Metropolitan Edition: engine details

    The Discovery Metropolitan Edition will come with two straight-six engine options – a 300hp, 3.0-litre diesel and a 360hp, 3.0-litre mild-hybrid petrol. The Metropolitan Edition will not come with the 300hp, 2.0-litre petrol engine that is offered in other Discovery variants.

    Discovery Metropolitan Edition: rivals

    The Discovery rivals other 7-seater luxury SUVs like the BMW X7, Mercedes-Benz GLS, Audi Q7 and Volvo XC90.
