Lexus LM 350h launched at Rs 2 crore

    Luxury MPV is available in four- and seven-seater layouts.

    Lexus India has launched its LM 350h luxury MPV in India at a starting price of Rs 2 crore. The range-topping variant with the 4-seater Lounge package costs Rs 2.50 crore, and offers a lot more in terms of luxury. The LM 350h is now the flagship Lexus model here and is the most expensive MPV in the country, overtaking its cousin, the Toyota Vellfire, that's priced from Rs 1.2 crore.

    The Lexus LM has no direct rivals, except maybe the Vellfire.

    Lexus LM platform, styling

    The Lexus LM is based on the same GA-K modular platform as the Vellfire. At the front, it boasts of a huge spindle grille, sleek LED headlamps and vertical housings for the fog lamps. Moving to the sides, it features a large glasshouse with a subtle kink at the B-pillar and has sliding rear doors. The biggest highlight of the rear-end of the MPV is the full-width LED tail-light setup, with Lexus lettering placed atop instead of an emblem. The LM measures 5,130mm in length, 1,890mm in width and 1,945mm in height.

    Powering the Lexus LM is a 2.5-litre, 4-cylinder self-charging hybrid engine with a combined power output of 250hp and 239Nm, and it comes mated to an eCVT gearbox. The engine works in tandem with a nickelmetal hydride battery that is claimed to offer a high output and fuel economy. The MPV comes with Lexus’ E-Four all-wheel drive system.

    The 4-seat version of the Lexus LM is equipped with a partition between the front and the rear passenger compartments, and gets a dimmable glass panel that can be lowered or raised. Features on offer include airline-style recliner seats, a 48-inch TV, a 23-speaker surround-sound audio system, pillow-style headrests, along with separate front and rear audio output.

    Other noteworthy features include fold-out tables, heated armrests and ottomans, several USB ports, wireless phone chargers, reading lights and vanity mirrors, a fridge, rear gloveboxes and an umbrella holder. Noise-reducing wheels and tyres, active noise control, and a digital rear-view mirror are other additions.

    Safety is taken care of with Lexus Safety System+ 3 suite of ADAS tech that includes vehicle detection – stationary/preceding vehicle, dynamic radar cruise control, lane departure alert with steering assist, lane tracing assist, automatic high beam, blind spot monitor, safe exit assist and more.
