Earlier today, Tata Motors announced a price drop for the Tigor EV, and now, it has been joined by the Mahindra eVerito, which has also received an identical price cut of Rs 80,000 with GST on electric vehicles being lowered to 5 percent starting today, August 1.
With this revision, the base D2 variant of the Mahindra eVerito is now priced at Rs 10.71 lakh. Do note that this is the price for the fleet market variant. Yes, unlike the Tigor EV – which is presently only available to fleet operators and government officials – the eVerito can be bought for private use as well. However, an eVerito registered as a private vehicle isn’t eligible for the government’s FAME II subsidy. Prices for the private-user Mahindra eVerito now range from Rs 13.70-14.20 lakh (all prices on-road, Delhi).
The Mahindra eVerito’s electric motor has an output of 41.4hp and 91Nm of torque that is capable of propelling the sedan to a top speed of 86kph (80kph for the fleet model). The eVerito has a maximum range of 110km (140km for the D2, D4 and D6 variants) and its 72-Volt lithium-ion battery pack takes 8 hours and 30 minutes to be fully charged (11 hours, 30 minutes for the D2, D4 and D6 variants). Fast charging allows the battery to attain 80 percent charge in 1 hour and 30 minutes.
At present, a majority of eVerito buyers are fleet operators, but Mahindra hopes to find more private-use buyers with the all-electric eKUV100, which is set to replace the e2o in the Mahindra Electric range when it is launched in early-2020.
