Mahindra has silently updated the prices of select top-spec variants of its flagship SUV, the XUV700. The Mahindra XUV700 AX7 and AX7 L variants' prices have increased by Rs 30,000-50,000.

    1. XUV700 price now ranges from Rs 13.99 lakh-25.64 lakh
    2. XUV700 AX7 L DT sees the highest increase in price
    3. Top-spec XUV700 price undercuts range-topping Tata Safari

The updated price list of the top-spec XUV700 variants is below:

The range-topping variants continue to be available as 6- and 7-seaters. And other than the top-spec XUV700 AX7 L DT variants, which see a Rs 50,000 increase, the price hike is almost a uniform Rs 30,000. However, the manual gearbox-equipped AX7 and AX7 DT variants see no change. This means that the XUV700 range is now priced from Rs 13.99 lakh for the base MX petrol-manual variant, to Rs 25.64 lakh for the diesel-auto AX7 L DT 4WD 7-seater variant. Do note that Mahindra slashed prices of these variants by Rs 2 lakh just six months back.

The XUV700 AX7 variants get features like a Level 2 ADAS suite, dual-tone colour options, 18-inch diamond-cut alloys, a 6-way powered driver’s seat with a memory function, auto headlights and wipers, dual-zone climate control, and leatherette interiors. The AX7 L, meanwhile, comes with a blind spot monitor, 360-degree camera, a knee airbag (taking the total to 7 airbags), an electronic parking brake, a 12-speaker sound system, ventilated front seats and rear LED sequential turn indicators.

Both trims get the 200hp, 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine or the 185hp, 2.2-litre turbo-diesel engine. However, only the AX7 gets the petrol-manual option, while the AX7 L is an automatic-only trim. Mahindra offers 4WD only on the AX7 L diesel trims, which cost about Rs 1 lakh-1.2 lakh more than their 2WD automatic counterparts.

Despite the increase in price, the Mahindra XUV700 is still priced competitively when compared to the Tata Safari (Rs 15.49 lakh-26.79 lakh), but it costs more than the Hyundai Alcazar (Rs 14.99 lakh-21.55 lakh) and the MG Hector Plus (Rs 18.00 lakh-23.58 lakh).
