Maruti Eeco completes 15 years, sells 1.2 million units

    The Maruti Suzuki Eeco just turned 15, and the brand says it has sold over 1.2 million units of the van since its launch. It has consistently been a strong seller for Maruti, averaging 11,391 units per month in the last calendar year. For context, that’s more than most compact and midsize SUVs. Currently, Maruti Eeco prices range from Rs 5.32 lakh to Rs 6.58 lakh (ex-showroom) for the passenger vehicle versions.

    Maruti Suzuki Eeco sales analysis

    In FY2024, the Maruti Eeco sold a total of 1,37,139 units, marking a 4.50 percent increase year on year (YoY). In the first nine months of FY2025, the Eeco sold 1,02,520 units, again, up 1.55 percent YoY. Despite no major updates over the last 15 years, the Eeco has still managed to achieve growth. About 63% of its sales come from rural areas, where it is used by businesses or for cargo hauling purposes.

    As for the powertrain mix, Maruti says 57 percent of sales come from the petrol variants, while the remaining 43 percent comes from the CNG variants.

    The Eeco is available in 13 different variants, including 5-seater and 7-seater configurations, as well as cargo, tour, and ambulance versions. So, it finds a use case across personal, commercial and emergency applications.

    The Eeco is powered by a 1.2-litre, four-cylinder K-Series petrol engine that produces 80hp and 104Nm of torque. In CNG spec, it produces 71hp and 95Nm of torque. It is offered only with a 5-speed manual gearbox. Creature comforts on the Eeco are sparse, but you do get an optional air conditioner. Safety features include a dual airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, and seat belt reminders for the driver and the front passenger.
