The Maruti Suzuki eVX EV SUV has been spied testing in India for the first time. Maruti’s first all-electric vehicle was spied testing in Poland earlier, and this implies that the global reveal of the production-spec eVX is imminent.

While the model spied in Gurugram was as camouflaged as the SUV spied in Poland, some design bits, like the silver alloy wheels, can be confirmed. The production version of the eVX will most likely stay true to the concept that was showcased at the 2023 Auto Expo, and more recently, at the Japan Mobility Show. There are some obvious areas of toning down, but the SUV-coupe-like body with wide haunches, which lend it a squat stance, seem to continue.

Suzuki also showcased the eVX concept’s interior at the recently concluded Japan Mobility Show, confirming what earlier spy shots had indicated. The EV SUV sports a twin-screen setup, with a large infotainment screen and digital instrument cluster along with vertical AC vents and a new flat-bottom steering wheel.
Maruti Suzuki eVX price and rivals
The Maruti eVX, once launched, will rival the Hyundai Creta EV, and higher variants of the Tata Nexon EV and Mahindra XUV400.
Toyota will also have its own version of the eVX coming to the Indian market, likely in 2025. The Maruti eVX, and its Toyota sibling, will be built at Suzuki’s Gujarat plant for both export and the domestic market. This plant has a target to manufacture over 1.25 lakh vehicles annually and will be manufacturing SUVs built on a derivative of Toyota’s 40PL electric skateboard architecture. The platform, which is internally codenamed 27PL, is being heavily localised.
