Maruti Suzuki has been offering attractive discounts and benefits on the Jimny SUV for a few months. The Jimny was earlier available at a discount of around Rs 1 lakh during Diwali, but now, the discount on the entry-level variant is Rs 2 lakh (for a limited period). This means the SUV's base Zeta MT, now starts at Rs 10.74 lakh instead of Rs 12.74 lakh (ex-showroom). At this price, the Jimny is almost Rs 4 lakh cheaper than the entry-level Thar petrol 4WD MT with Hard top.

    1. Entry-level Jimny costs Rs 2 lakh less for limited period
    2. Thunder edition package available for all variants

    Maruti Jimny Thunder Edition introduced

In order to push sales, the Jimny Thunder edition has been introduced in the market, which essentially adds a bunch of accessories for no extra cost. Customers can opt for the Thunder Edition kit on both the entry-level Zeta and top-spec Alpha trims.

Here’s what the Jimny Thunder Edition bundles in:

There are no mechanical changes as such, which means the 105hp, 1.5-litre petrol engine continues, and it can either be mated to a 5-speed manual or a 4-speed automatic. The Jimny comes standard with Suzuki’s ALLGrip 4WD tech on all variants.

As far as standard features go, the Jimny Zeta gets steel wheels, a 7.0-inch touchscreen, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, six airbags and ESP, among others.

The Jimny has been a steady seller for Maruti, at around 3,000 units a month, which is not exactly up to the brand's standards. The made-in-India Jimny, in its five-door body style, is being exported in LHD and RHD iterations to many international markets.
