Maruti Suzuki Recall: all units will be inspected

In a regulatory filing by the company with BSE, Maruti Suzuki said, "It is suspected that there is a possible defect in the rear brake assembly pin ('Part'), which, in a certain case, may break and cause a peculiar noise. There may be a possibility of impact on brake performance in the long run."

As a precautionary measure, Maruti Suzuki has decided to recall the cars for inspection and replacement of the faulty part. Parts found defective will be replaced free of cost, the carmaker has mentioned.

Parts for the replacement are being arranged and authorised workshops will contact customers to attend to their vehicles, the company said, adding "necessary repair, if required, will be undertaken post inspection."

While the Wagon R and the Celerio are sold via Maruti Suzuki’s Arena retail outlets, the Ignis is available at the premium Nexa dealership chains across India.
