Maruti has showcased the eVX concept at the ongoing Bharat Mobility show in New Delhi. The eVX concept previews Maruti’s first SUV for India that will go on sale sometime in late 2024. The eVX SUV is being built in partnership with Toyota, which will also have their own iteration. Toyota’s version of the eVX will go on sale next year.

The eVX and its Toyota sibling, which was recently previewed as the Toyota Urban SUV concept, will sit on Toyota’s 27PL skateboard platform. This platform will also spawn more mass market EVs in the future. Both SUVs will be 4.3 metres long and will have ample cabin space thanks to its born-EV architecture. Maruti has already been road testing the eVX in India, and spied test mules have revealed some exterior and interior details of the production-spec model; you can read about that here. Expect more details on Maruti’s first EV SUV to be revealed closer to its global debut.

Along with the eVX, the Wagon R Flex Fuel is also on display at the show. Still in prototype form, the Wagon R Flex Fuel is powered by a 1.2-litre petrol engine that has been tweaked to run on E20-E85 Ethanol.
